LiverpoolHFH New eBay ReStore

LHFH have got 2011 off to a start by developing a new online ReStore via eBay. Internationally, Habitat For Humanity Restores are invaluable resources for raising funds, and sell everything from bric-a-brac to new and second-hand DIY products, recycled furniture, DVD's and much more.

LHFH recently registered with eBay and now have a PayPal account for direct and instant payments. So whether you wish to buy or donate, we're asking you to get involved.

We rely heavily on donations so if you or anyone you know is in a position to donate unwanted items, or need a house clearance please contact us ASAP on: 0151 707 9440. All monies raised will go towards building a new community.

Alternatively to buy items, please visit our store at http:/myworld.ebay.co.uk/liverpoolhfh and search for our trader ID: LiverpoolHFH. This link can also be accessed vir our new Twitter and Facebook links on this homepage.

You can help us in a number of ways:

• Support our new 123 Appeal... on eBay (Click Here)

• Contribute new and used items to our online ReStore (Click Here)

• Make a secure cash donation via our justgiving site (Click Here)

In addition, you could contact your local MP to voice support for our programme and advocate for our unique way of providing affordable housing; or you could petition the Department for Communities and Local Government to say that Liverpool Habitat For Humanity should be a showcase for the Big Society.

Habitat under construction but still needs support

Liverpool Habitat For Humanity is very much alive and undergoing a period of review and change. Like many non-profit organisations we have been affected by the general economic downturn, severe cuts in public spending and a reduction in corporate giving.

Whilst we have suspended building on site, this is only a short term measure and we hope to be building homes again - and needing volunteers - very soon.

Meanwhile, we are seeking partnerships with housing organisations, reviewing Big Society funding possibilities and perhaps finding a partnership to refurbish homes in the city to make them habitable (we have already completed three such projects for two housing associations). Eventually, we will find a solution to get us up and building again with full staff at Kingsley Road, helping low-income families to own a home of their own and transforming the lives of homeowners and volunteers alike.
